De fitheid van Boerrigter werd zaterdagavond getest met een invalbeurt tegen NAC Breda. Uit die test is gebleken dat de linksbuiten nog niet fit genoeg is om mee te gaan naar Lyon. De aanvaller maakte tegen NAC zijn rentree na een blessure aan zijn onderrug. Ook Bulykin moet de wedstrijd in de Champions League aan zich voorbij laten gaan. De Rus viel tegen NAC uit met een blessure. De verrekking in zijn kuit zorgt ervoor dat hij niet inzetbaar is. De 18-jarige middenvelder Davy Klaassen (Ajax A1) behoort voor het eerst tot de wedstrijdselectie.

Hij werd geboren op 6 januari 1981 en begon zijn speelcarrière met het strategiespel Magic: The Gathering. In 2001 begon deze succesvolle speler ook online te pokeren en al gauw bleek dat hij talent had. Hij heeft vele prijzen en titels in de wacht gesleept. Overigens werd Boeken min of meer opgeleid door een andere bekende professionele Nederlandse speler: de op 20 maart 1952 geboren Marcel Lüske, ook wel the flying Dutchman genoemd. Voor Lüske begon het allemaal begin jaren tachtig, toen hij met zijn broer een illegaal casino in Amsterdam runde. Zoals de naam al suggereert, reist Lüske de hele wereld over om aan grote en prestigieuze toernooien deel te nemen. Hij won onder andere de titel European Poker Player of the Year, de 10e plaats op het WSOP van 2004 in Las Vegas en de 7e plaats op de EPT-finale in Monte Carlo. Zijn ‘handelsmerk’ is zijn omgekeerde zonnebril en zijn goede humeur.
Na de heren hebben nu ook de dames het spel ontdekt. De op 4 juli 1978 in Rotterdam geboren Fatima de Moreira de Melo is hier een goed voorbeeld van. Fatima heeft een glansrijke carrière als hockeyspeelster achter de rug: met het nationale dameshockeyelftal won ze onder andere brons op de Olympische Spelen van 2000, zilver op die van 2004 en goud in 2008. Na en tijdens haar sportcarrière is ze veelvuldig te zien geweest op de televisie, maar nu houdt ze zich vooral bezig met pokeren. En dat doet ze beslist niet slecht!
